James Swayze – President and Chief Executive Officer
James R. Swayze brings over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry to Automated Benefits. Throughout his career, Mr. Swayze held senior management positions across the globe, including the United States, Canada and various parts of Europe. Prior to Automated Benefits, Mr. Swayze co-founded and served as president of Insource Limited, a financial services marketing and product development consulting firm. After General Electric (GE) Capital purchased Insource in 1997, Mr. Swayze joined GE Employers Reassurance Canada (GE ERC) as senior vice president, business development. After building the value of its Canadian life reinsurance division of GE ERC to over $1 billion, Mr. Swayze was promoted to vice president, sales and marketing, North America for GE ERC’s parent company, General Electric (GE).
Mr. Swayze is an accomplished author with several features on emerging trends in technology appearing in industry publications such as Canadian Insurance, Claims Canada and Claims Advisor. In addition to being a published author, Mr. Swayze is also a frequent speaker at industry conferences and events throughout North America.
Richard Adair – Executive VP, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer
Richard Adair is a practiced finance professional with a career spanning more than18 years. For the last 15 years Mr. Adair has acted as chief financial officer for several start-up technology companies while continuing to provide advisory services to these public and privately held companies through his personal consulting firm. In addition to handling the financial functions of these companies, Mr. Adair also took on the added responsibility of operational management and continues to do so. In 2007, Mr. Adair was promoted and now acts as both CFO and COO of Automated Benefits Corporation.
Mr. Adair holds an Honors Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario and received a Chartered Business Valuator designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.
Marc-Olivier Huynh – Chief Technology Officer, Founder
Marc-Olivier Huynh has over 15 years experience in software architecture, software development and programming including mobile applications, invoicing and scheduling systems, insurance risk management software and scalable server applications. Graduating at the top of his class in computer and software engineering, Mr. Huynh’s passion for software development began early in his career. Mr. Huynh co-founded his first software company at 17 years old and later worked as architect and lead programmer in various companies before starting Symbility Solutions in 2002.
In 2009, Mr. Huynh was promoted to the role of chief technology officer for Automated Benefits Corporation where he now directs the development efforts of both Symbility Solutions and Automated Benefits Inc.
Andrew de Groot – Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Andrew de Groot has over 20 years of experience helping insurance companies successfully transform their business and technology operations. Prior to joining Symbility, he served as General Manager of Guidewire Canada where he was responsible for the introduction of Guidewire’s solutions into Canada. He held various sales positions with DWL, Journee Software, NCR Teradata and SHL Systemhouse throughout his career. He has provided insurers all around the globe with e-Commerce, data warehousing, and business intelligence solutions and other core insurance applications.
