Another unique aspect to the Symbility solution is that half of the system is entirely web-based. This approach de-centralizes all claims data and allows access to any aspect of any claim—whether historical or current—from any computer with an Internet connection (wired or wireless). It also provides all tools that telephone adjusters require to settle property claims, without requiring any software to be installed, reducing IT costs.

Symbility.NET is a secure, online communications hub, data warehouse and analytics engine. It allows all claim participants to track assignments and view details of claims in progress, providing up-to-the minute information amalgamated from all claim participants regardless of where they are.

The Symbility.NET login page, available from any computer with an Internet connection. All data within this site is accessed through a secure 128-bit SSL connection. Built upon Microsoft’s .NET (“dot-net”) next-generation programming framework, the site is digitally signed and verified by Verisign.

Immediate, Automatic Notifications of all Claim Activity

One of the main functions of Symbility.NET is to automatically notify all claim participants of all changes to a claim file. For example:

• Assignment of a new claim to a contractor

• Completion of an estimate

• Approval of the estimate

• Completion of repairs

• Estimate created with a value over a certain amount

• A certain number of hours or days have elapsed before the claim has escalated to a certain status

• Price deviation on any estimate exceeds a certain percentage or dollar amount

Each company and user can configure their account to notify them of any event using any of the multiple methods available: SMS (text) messages direct to cell phone, pager, computer-generated voice call, email to cell phone or Blackberry™.

Symbility.NET also replaces email, voice calls, faxes and other non-secure methods of correspondence between adjusters and contractors. Not only can questions be asked and answered almost immediately (regardless of where adjusters or contractors are), but all dialogue is captured and embedded in the claim file. With traditional methods, what was said would be forever lost—providing no accountability.

Once configured, Symbility.NET handles the task of automatically and instantly routing the notification directly to all people that the event is relevant to. Symbility's automatic notifications keep claim participants constantly "in-the-know", eliminating faxes, phone tag and other inefficiencies that are not only costly but also slow down the claim progress considerably. Regardless of where adjusters or contractors are, they are aware of the status of every claim.

Access the Entire Claim File, Anywhere

When you access a Symbility electronic claim file you have access to the most current version of every aspect of the claim, including floorplans and roofplans, estimates, digital photos, electronic forms, the journal and estimate audits. Symbility keeps all data related to the claim—data that may have been contributed by several claim participants—in a single electronic file. The same file is available regardless where you access it, whether through Symbility.NET or remotely with mobile claims running on a Tablet PC or Pocket PC.

New Levels of Control and Accountability

Symbility.NET takes care of automatically enforcing pre-established business rules with the Audit Report feature. When an estimate is uploaded to Symbility.NET, it is immediately and automatically processed: each item in the estimate is analyzed by comparing to the assigned pricing database and to other previously defined audit rules. Any items which vary from the pricing database in description, price, or other properties flagged within the estimate and appear on a separate report. Examples of audit violations:

• One or more unit price components (materials, labor, equipment) changed

• Item description altered

• Item not excluded from O&P when it should be

• Item taxed when it should not be

• Item does not exist in the database

• Multiple minimum charges for same task within same estimate

• Wastage applied to “tear out” operation

• Charge for tear out of door hardware as well as charge for tear out of door

• Quantity walls to be cleaned does not match the surface area of walls within the room

All audit rules are completely configurable, and any number of rules can be employed.

The audit report can also be run by the estimator in the field, allowing them to make changes before submitting the estimate. Any number of violations can be automatically corrected with a single tap or click.

All changes made to an estimate once it is completed and submitted are automatically tracked, no matter how small the change. Symbility.NET always knows exactly who did what change and when. The Estimate History tool provides an innovative interface to report on all changes made between two recorded versions of an estimate, and even view an estimate exactly as it was at a past point in time.

Integration With Other Systems

Symbility.NET is unique in it's ability to integrate easily with other electronic claims management systems. It offers a programmable interface to communicate claims data (current and historical) to and from other electronic claims systems via XML (a universal data exchange method). This means that Symbility's solution can easily co-exist with existing claims systems, sharing data securely so that data is only entered once.

The sheer depth of data that is gathered, compiled and stored for every Symbility claim provides for powerful management reporting. Historical claim data can be mined for virtually any level of detail, and being all about settling claims faster, Symbility automatically tracks the duration of every phase of the settlement process, exposing it to managers who need to know where time and money is being wasted.

Symbility's Analytics feature works in two simple steps. First, you specify what data to extract from Symbility's massive data warehouse. For example "all water damage claims over $15,000 located in New York State between January and March, excluding those involving an independent adjuster". Complex queries are created graphically, and queries can be saved, recalled and executed any time with a fine level of precision.

Once the desired set of records are extracted, the data within is displayed on a graphic or tabular ad-hoc or saved report. Reports are fully interactive, allowing drilling down to any level of detail.

Any management report can include industry data from other companies for comparison. Claim data is shared anonymously.
